The commitment to pay it forward is carried by employees of the Group whose dedication and commitment form the backbone of Hong Leong Foundation. By actively engaging our employees in several activities each year, we hope to encourage and strengthen the spirit of volunteerism in each and everyone of them.
Donations are also given annually to a variety of causes under three main pillars: education, community, and arts and culture.
We aim to nurture the development of the arts and culture in Singapore through the provision of grants and contributions to arts groups and statutory boards such as, the National Heritage Board, and the Asian Civilisations Museum. By doing so, we hope to help them reach out to a wider audience and champion performing, visual and literary art forms in Singapore and internationally.
The Foundation reaches out to the community through various outreach programmes and events to help the elderly and underprivileged lead fulfilling, healthy and active lives. Over the past 30 years, we have carried out annual cash distributions to the needy elderly. We support through both long-term and ad-hoc contributions that can help partner organisations provide the care and assistance for our beneficiaries.
We also support other initiatives to enrichen the lives of the wider community and environment. Hong Leong Foundation is a long-term supporter of the Mandai Wildlife Group, which promotes wildlife conservation, biodiversity and animal welfare interests, beyond being leisure attractions.
We believe in empowering the youths of today to better their future through education. The Foundation offers assistance to less privileged children and youths by donating to scholarships and bursaries established by tertiary education institutions such as the Nanyang Business School (NTU Singapore), National University of Singapore and Singapore Institute of Technology.
